First fully-electric Jeep revealed

Jeep has unveiled its first ever fully-electric vehicle – the Wagoneer S – which will launch first in the United States and Canada in the second half of 2024 and will be available in Ireland from late 2025.

The Jeep Wagoneer S will be offered exclusively as a battery-electric vehicle (BEV) with a claimed range of more than 600 km on a single charge, delivering 600 horsepower, a 0-100 km/h acceleration time in less than four seconds, and more than 800 Nm of instant torque.

According to Jeep, the Wagoneer S carries an efficient 100-kilowatt-hour battery pack that allows charging from 20 to 80 per cent in 23 minutes (with DC fast charger).

Built on the Stellantis STLA Large Platform, the four-wheel drive Wagoneer S has a Jeep brand-exclusive Selec-Terrain traction management system which features five distinct driving modes: Auto, Sport, Eco, Snow, Sand.

The new electric SUV has a sloping roofline that cascades beneath a floating rear spoiler, offering a drag coefficient of 0.29, the lowest ever for a Jeep vehicle and approximately 15 per cent better than the average SUV, according to the automaker.

Inside of the Wagoneer S, the seating, console, doors and instrument panel surfaces feature a non-leather synthetic material. Additional appointments include a premium microfiber suede headliner and carpets comprised of recycled pre and post-consumer materials.

It will have a fully digital cockpit with modern controls and interfaces, 12.3-inch driver cluster, 12.3-inch centre display, and a 10.25-inch front interactive passenger display.

Jeep states that the Wagoneer S delivers a combination of more than 170 standard safety and security features that help make instrumentation easier to see and aid in collision avoidance with advanced driver-assist technology. Features on the Launch Edition include Active Driving Assist, Intersection Collision Assist, Drowsy Driver Detection, Traffic Sign Recognition and Surround View camera.

Full specification and price details for the Irish Market will be available closer to launch.
