Frank Keane Volkswagen to host e-mobility event

To celebrate the launch of the fully electric e-Golf in Ireland, Frank Keane Volkswagen is hosting an e-mobility event on the Long Mile Road on Saturday, 18th October from 12pm to 6pm.  Visitors can experience the world of e-mobility and discover how electric cars work.

Guests will have the chance to drive the e-Golf, e-up & XL1, the world’s most fuel efficient car. The FM104 Roadhog will be broadcasting live from Frank Keane Volkswagen and the Beetlebugs will be there with lots of goodies to give away including official Volkswagen merchandise.

As well as the e-Golf, the fully electric e-up will be on display along with the XL1, the most fuel efficient car in the world. The XL1 is a Plug-In Hybrid Electric car with a two cylinder 48ps TDI engine and 27ps electric motor, a new kind of supercar crafted with efficiency in mind. It is the world’s most efficient liquid fuelled production car at 313 mpg (0.9l/100 km). It is the world’s lowest official CO2 figure for a liquid-fuelled production car at 21g/km and the world’s most aerodynamic road-going production car.

The e-Golf has just gone on sale in Ireland and customers can place orders for the fully electric car, which is priced at €32,660 (including €5,000 SEAI Grant and €5,000 VRT Rebate).  The car is currently on display and is available for test drives in Frank Keane Volkswagen Long Mile Dublin, who are the authorised e-Golf retailer for Ireland.  Based on the multi-award-winning Golf hatchback, the e-Golf offers the same virtues of practicality, refinement and advanced technology, but with a purely electric drivetrain and no tailpipe emissions. The car can travel up to 190km on pure electric power and there are considerable savings to be made for customers whose driving habits suit an electric vehicle such as at the e-Golf. For example, the e-Golf can cost as little as €1.27 per 100km, compared to €5.77 for the equivalent 1.6 diesel Golf, or €7.80 for the 1.2 TSI petrol Golf. That is an up to 78% fuel saving versus a diesel Golf and an up to 84% saving versus the petrol Golf.

This will be a great opportunity to try some really cutting edge technology.
