Greater London has nearly 1,000 speed cameras, Northern Ireland has 5

New research has revealed that Northern Ireland has the lowest number of speed cameras in the UK, with a total of five cameras and only 0.4 cameras per 1,000km2.

London reported the highest number of speed cameras in the country, with a total of 995 cameras installed, surprisingly followed closely by Derbyshire (958 cameras) and in third place is West Yorkshire (402 cameras).

The study, from UK short-term car insurance provider GoShorty, conducted a series of Freedom of Information requests to police forces across the UK to discover the areas with the most speed cameras and the fastest speeders.
