With new trims a wide variety of standard features, new engines and outstanding efficiency there has never been a better reason to own an Astra, according to Opel Ireland.

In addition, Opel is offering a guaranteed minimum scrappage allowance on your old car with €3,500 towards a new Opel Astra, 0% APR finance and a 5-year warranty as standard across the passenger vehicle range.
This offer is available until 28th February 2015 and is also offered on the Insignia (€4,500), Mokka and new Corsa (€3,000).
Timing couldn’t be better as Opel Ireland has just introduced a new trim Astra Excite, a hatchback model that starts from €20,995. This model includes standard features such as air conditioning, 17-inch alloy wheels, Bluetooth connection, LED daytime running lights, remote control central locking, cruise control and steering wheel mounted controls and leather covered steering wheel plus a host of other advanced safety features.
Another new trim has also been added, the Astra SRI Limited Edition. Standard features include 18-inch alloy wheels, unique OPC sports-line front bumper and grille, body coloured brand bar, side sill extensions and rear lower skirt, satnav system with seven-inch colour monitor, sports-style front seats, Digital Audio Broadcast Radio (DAB) with six premium speakers, chrome-effect side window surround, LED daytime running lights, lowered and uprated sports suspension and even a remote control alarm system.
New to the Astra is Opel’s whisper diesel that now has even better efficient of new 1.6CDTI engine with an output of 110hp and 136hp. The Astra with 110hp has an updated emissions figures of just 94 g/km of CO2 (vs 97 g/km), the equivalent of 3.6 litres of diesel per 100 kilometres (0.1 litre less than before). The 136hp variant now only emits 99 g/km of CO2 (5 grams less than before) and needs 3.7 litres of diesel (0.2 litre less), and sees the more powerful Astra whisper diesel crack the 100-gram-barrier. It has also recorded the lowest in-vehicle noise ratings in its class all which combine to make the new engine a true all rounder.
Opel Ireland has also welcomed the Astra OPC, which produces more power and torque than any car in its class and will achieve a sub 6-second 0-100km time. The Astra OPC includes a mechanical limited slip differential, 19-inch rims in its kit-list and benefits from a raft of bespoke chassis modifications, transforming it into a focused, high-performance coupe. Setting it apart from all other current Astras is a specially developed mechanical limited slip differential, which works on the front wheels. In conjunction with the GTC’s sophisticated HiPerStrut (High Performance Strut), the LSD provides the Astra OPC with exceptional lateral grip and traction through bends. The Astra OPC starts from €39,999 and is available on request from your local Opel dealership.
