Space Star now at Mitsibushi dealerships

Mitsubishi’s all-new compact car, the Space Star is now available at dealerships nationwide with prices starting at €11,995.

Engineered from the ground up to maximise fuel economy and minimise Co2 levels, it delivers over 70 miles per gallon with Co2 emissions of 100 g/km and under, giving you an annual road tax of just €180 in Tax Band A2. And it comes with an unbeatable 8 year warranty as standard – the longest in the Irish market.
What is even more remarkable about the Space Star is that all this efficiency comes with so little sacrifice. Constructed of high-tensile steel the Space Star is light enough to be peppy and nimble (4.6m turning circle) yet roomy enough to be an ideal family car and comfortably seat 5 adults.

The Space Star is available in a choice of two models, a 1.0L petrol Invite and a 1.2L petrol Intense.

Price Fuel Economy Power Co2 Emissions Tax Band
1.0L Invite €11,995 4.0L / 100km 71 BHP 92 g/KM A2 (€180)
1.2L Intense €14,995 4.0L / 100km 80 BHP 100 g/km A2 (€180)

The arrival of the Space Star follows the recent launch of the all-new Outlander SUV, and is part of a comprehensive product plan from Mitsubishi Motors which will see four all-new passenger car models launched over 15 months.spacestarfront2-copy2

The Space Star range is powered by a choice of two all-new high efficiency lightweight 3-cyclinder petrol engines with MIVEC variable valve timing.

The Invite model is powered by a 71BHP 1.0L petrol engine which delivers 88Nm of torque, while the Intense model is powered by a 80BHP 1.2L petrol engine delivering 106Nm of torque.

These ultra efficient petrol engines deliver very strong economy and performance figures. The 1.0L engine produces just 92g/km of Co2 emissions, and the 1.2L just 100g/km, placing both vehicles in the A2 Tax Band with annual road tax of just €180.  In addition, they return superb economy of 4.0L / 100km for the 1.0L and 4.3L / 100km for the 1.2L, which is up to 70MPG.

The Space Star is built around a high efficiency architecture which is lightweight yet extremely strong and safe, with a 5-star EURO NCAP rating being targeted.
This will be achieved, Mitsubishi says through a comprehensive package of features which are standard on all models, This includes; front, side and curtain airbags, Active Stability and Traction Control, ABS with EBD and Emergency Stop Signal System.

This is all housed within Mitsubishi’s patented RISE (Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution) active structure, which is designed to absorb and disperse an impact from all directions.

In addition, for the Space Star, Mitsubishi Motors has added a “multi-load pass frame” front cross member, designed to contribute to better energy management in case of a front end crash.
