The system’s 300 watt and 8-channel amplifier is fitted with a digital signal processor (DSP). To deliver this crystal-clear sound, the system has seven high-end loudspeakers distributed around the interior: two tweeters in the A-pillars, two woofers in the front doors, two broadband loudspeakers in the back as well as a subwoofer integrated in the spare wheel well, which it says delivers powerful, punching bass tones. No matter whether it is hip hop, heavy metal, rock, pop or electronic music – Volkswagen claims that you can really feel the music in the new beats special editions.

The Polo beats, features the new 16-inch “Syenit” alloy wheels, coloured door mirrors and a gloss black radiator grille. The interior of this little boombox on wheels is characterised by the special “beats” design seats and door trim panels, coloured seat belts and a leather steering wheel.

The audio specialist ‘Beats Electronics – founded in 2008 by Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine– redefined how we listen to music with a better representation of the artist music in a stylish form factor, primarily with its studio headphones. Now the Californian company has significantly expanded its range of product: to include earbuds, wireless headphones, wireless active buds, and wireless speakers.

“The Polo remains a very important car for us here in Ireland and it has been a favourite in this country for over 40 years now,” said Volkswagen Ireland Brand Director Gerrit Heimberg. “The new beats version offers a new angle on the Polo and will very much appeal to a younger buyer and in particular, any audiophiles thanks to its very special audio system.”

The Polo beats comes with a 1.0-litre 75bhp petrol engine in 5-door guise only and costs €20,120. And VW says that for a limited time only, there is also one year’s free insurance on the Volkswagen Polo if you finance it through the Volkswagen Bank. No interest rate was quoted in the press release for this offer.
