Volkswagen T-Roc R to land in Ireland early 2020

Volkswagen’s new T-Roc R is set to arrive in Ireland in early 2020 and is priced from €53,750.

The new compact SUV has 300hp and 400Nm of torque from the 2.0-litre TSI engine. 0-100km/h is 4.8 seconds.

The T-Roc R features many of the styling cues of the Golf R, with bumpers in R styling, air intakes with black fins and R logo in the black radiator grille. There are also LED headlights and daytime running lights, specifically designed for the T-Roc R, have been integrated vertically into the front bumper. The LED taillights are glazed in dark red. The two tail pipes on the rear left and right have been chrome plated and there is the option of an ‘R’ Performance titanium exhaust system made by specialist Akrapovič, which adds a more distinctive sound and cuts weight by seven kilos.

The T-Roc R comes with a seven-speed DSG transmission with paddles as standard. 4Motion all-wheel drive ensures the T-Roc R puts down its power properly. Like all T-Roc models, the R version is equipped with driver assist systems. These include the standard Driver Alert System and the automatic Emergency Call Service as well as the Hill Start Assistant and Hill Descent Control.

Further standard driver assistance systems as standard fit include Adaptive Cruise Control Stop & Go, Front Assist Autonomous Emergency Braking and Lane Assist. There are also further optional items; Blind Spot Monitor and the Rear Traffic Alert.
