Irish pricing and specs announced for new Opel Grandland

Opel has announced pricing and equipment for the new Grandland range, ahead of its arrival on Irish forecourts this April.

Available in petrol and diesel from launch, the new Grandland retails from €35,495. There’s also a plug-in electric hybrid version which arrives in early summer.

This new Opel SUV flagship dons the signature Opel Vizor brand face and boasts adaptive IntelliLux LED Pixel Lights as standard across the three-trim range. It is also host to a new Pure Panel cockpit and technology and comfort features.

James Brooks, managing director at Leeson Motors, Opel Importer in Ireland, said: “The striking new Grandland sports a fresh new exterior look, a high-tech interior, a range of highly efficient powertrains and incredible levels of standard safety and comfort equipment.

“It is sure to appeal to our existing and new conquest customers alike. We look forward to market growth in 2022 in the all-important C-SUV segment.”

A segment first in Ireland, Opel’s adaptive IntelliLux LED Pixel Lighting system combined with high beam assist is standard across range. Featuring 168 LED elements, 84 in each ultra-slim headlamp, that light up the road ahead, Opel states that the main beam automatically adjusts seamlessly in “milliseconds” to cut out glare for oncoming road users, whilst the peripheral lighting remains intact, for optimal safety.

Powered by efficient petrol and diesel engines from launch in Ireland, customers have a choice between a 1.2 130hp 6-speed manual petrol (139g CO2), a 1.2 130hp 8-speed automatic petrol (145g CO2) and a 1.5 130hp 8-speed automatic diesel (135g CO2).

The new Grandland plug-in electric hybrid 225hp 2WD version will arrive in early summer (31g CO2 combined), with the 300hp AWD to follow later in 2022.

Available in three trims, the Grandland SC trim retails from €35,495 plus delivery and standard equipment includes LED Pixel Lighting, active emergency braking, cruise control with speed limiter, active lane keep assist, side blind spot alert, enhanced traffic sign recognition, driver attention alert, hill start assist with electronic parking brake, electronically controlled dual zone air conditioning, DAB radio, Apple Car Play and Android Auto, seven inch touchscreen, Bluetooth audio streaming, front console USB, 230V plug in 2nd row, 17 inch alloy wheels, auto headlamps, front fogs, rain sensitive windscreen, front and rear parking sensors and rear view camera.

The sporty SRI trim retails from €37,495 plus delivery and boasts as standard over and above the SC trim AGR driver’s seat, electrically adjustable driver’s seat lumbar adjustment, adjustable driver seat cushion extension, half leather-effect seat trim, alloy sporty pedals (auto versions), 10 inch touchscreen with satellite navigation, 12 inch multi-colour driver information cluster, USB connection in 2nd row, wireless charger, Black Pack (high gloss Opel logo and badging), two tone black roof and black mirror caps, high gloss black roof rails, 18 inch alloy wheels and privacy tinted windows.
