Farizon SV earns its racing stripes

A Farizon SV has completed 5,000 miles of load-lugging for Team BRIT in the UK, the world’s only competitive team of all-disabled racing drivers.

The delivery of the electric van took place in September, following a sponsorship agreement signed between Team BRIT and Brian Currie Van Centre, the commercial vehicle retail partner for Farizon in Milton Keynes.

Team BRIT’s SV is an L3H3 model, the largest in the Farizon range. It has travelled to and from racetracks across the UK, with the van’s capacious 13m3 load space regularly swallowing car parts, tyres, catering equipment, racing simulators and personnel required for top-flight race meetings.

Competing in the Britcar Endurance Championship, the GT Cup Championship, and the Snetterton Saloons Series means the race team regularly drives the fully-loaded SV across the country.

With a WLTP combined range of almost 400km for Team BRIT’s 106kWh model, the team has been able to cover long distances on a single charge. When a charge has been required, the van can be topped up from 20 to 80 per cent in as little as 40 minutes.

When crossing the UK, Team BRIT said the SV has proven to be extremely comfortable, seating three team members and providing plenty of storage space. Team BRIT has also been well-served by the high levels of kit provided as standard, including a multifunction heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated seats, Bluetooth, wireless Apple CarPlay connectivity and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology.

Nathan Wooldridge, Team BRIT’s number two mechanic and a regular behind the wheel of the team’s Farizon van, said: “The SV is far quieter than a conventional diesel van. In fact, it feels like driving a big car rather than a large van. Being electric, it’s quick to pull away, is very easy to manoeuvre, and all key controls are easy to locate and operate.”

Frank Keane Farizon in Ballymount, Dublin, and M50 Truck & Van Centre, located off Exit 5 on the M50 in Dublin, are now representing the brand in the Irish market.

Farizon is the commercial vehicle division of Geely and has become China’s leading commercial EV brand, built on advanced electric vehicle technology and large-scale commercial vehicle expertise.
