Kia has used IAA in Germany to unveil its PV7 electric van, expanding the brand’s offering in the light commercial vehicle (LCV) segment.
Built on Kia’s Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV)-dedicated E-GMP.S architecture, it features a flat-floor design that maximises interior space and flexibility.
Similar to the smaller PV5 that launched here earlier this year, the Kia PV7 will also be available in Cargo and Passenger variants.
The PV7 will be offered with a choice of 71.5kWh and 96.2kWh nickel cobalt manganese (NCM) battery packs. Depending on market and configuration, the electric powertrain delivers up to 200kW and 420Nm of torque to the front wheels.
Front-wheel drive is standard, with an all-wheel-drive variant planned as a future addition. The Long Range Cargo variant promises over 460km of all-electric range.
The PV7’s 800V architecture supports up to 350kW DC fast charging.
Unlike the PV5, the PV7 Cargo will be offered in a three-seat configuration, while the Passenger version can accommodate up to nine people.
With a wheelbase of 3,500mm, the PV7 is 5,350mm in length, 2,030mm in width and 1,990mm in height.
Kia has said that the full lineup will include Cargo (compact, long, high roof) and Passenger (compact, long) variants, a dedicated chassis cab for specialist applications, along with a wide range of conversion models.
The Kia PV7 will enter series production in mid-2027, meaning Irish pricing and specification is unlikely to be announced until next year.
Kia Ireland will showcase its PV5 range at the inaugural 271 Vans for Business EXPO at the RDS Simmonscourt in Dublin, taking place alongside the 2026 Auto Trade EXPO from 10th-11th October.
