Renault has today revealed the Twingo E-Tech electric, marking the return of the iconic French city car.
Originally launched back in 1992, the Twingo was a huge success selling over 4.1 million units in 25 countries, although it was never officially sold in Ireland.

The revival of the Twingo in the guise of an EV follows on from the electric comeback of the Renault 5 and Renault 4 nameplates, all of which have received noticeable styling cues to their respective original models.
The Twingo E-Tech electric sits on a 27.5 kWh usable lithium-iron phosphate (LFP) battery with a quoted range of up 262km, and is powered by a 82hp electric motor. Renault says it has 11kW of AC charging and up to 50kW of DC charging.

The new electric Twingo is 3.79 metres long and has a boot capacity of up to 360-litres. Renault does claim that rear passengers will have plenty of knee and shoulder room.
Inside features a seven-inch digital instrument panel facing the driver and a 10-inch central multimedia screen, with physical buttons underneath.
Like the first-generation Twingo, the Twingo E-Tech electric’s interior has oblong features that are colour-coordinated with the body, such as green, red and a mango yellow.
It is unknown yet wether the Renault Twingo E-Tech electric will be available in Ireland, but it is expected to go on sale in left-hand drive Europe in 2027 for less than €20,000.
