Mercedes-Benz vehicles scooped four awards at the UK’s Professional Driver Magazine Awards recently. And three of these went to one model.
These included the Chauffeur Car of the Year for 2013 for the E 300 BlueTEC Hybrid. Described as a ‘game-changer’ for the chauffeur sector, the E 300 BlueTEC Hybrid also won Green Car of the Year and Executive Car of the Year – this is the first time any car has triumphed in more than one category at these awards.
Mark Bursa, Editor of Professional Driver magazine and chairman of the judging panel, said: “The Mercedes-Benz E 300 BlueTEC Hybrid is a genuine game-changer. It’s really the car chauffeurs have been waiting for. It’s a truly green luxury hybrid car without any compromise to rear seat or luggage space.
“With so many blue chip companies demanding that their suppliers have eco-friendly credentials, it’s vital that chauffeur operators have demonstrably green cars on their fleets. Already we’re seeing many chauffeur fleets switching over en masse to this Mercedes-Benz E 300 BlueTEC Hybrid.”
In addition, the Viano 2.2 CDI Ambiente long wheelbase made it a big four-timer fot Mercedes-Benz, when it won the MPV of the Year award.
