The all-new Audi TT and TTS Coupe and Roadster have just gone on sale. with an entry level pricing from €47,550 on the road.
The TT and TTS are now available with three four-cylinder engines featuring turbocharging and direct injection. Their power outputs
range from 184bhp to 310bhp. The two TFSI petrol engines and the TDI combine plentiful power with trailblazing efficiency, and feature a start-stop system as standard.
Audi Ireland say that the most popular engine choice here will be the 2.0 TDI ultra model, which is equipped with a manual gearbox and front-wheel drive. It adds that this is helped by a strong peak torque of 380 Nm, which can accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in 7.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 234 kmph. And yet, Audi claims thatit is also good for up to 4.2L/100kms (combined) but we can safely assume pushing the limits would greatly reduce that average. The German carmaker claims that the CO2 emissions of 110g/km is a new record low level in the sports car world. And this delivers an annual road tax bill of €190.
Fans of the Audi TT’s sporty heritage won’t be disappointed according to Audi Ireland. It claims that the all new model boasts real sports car credentials. Not only is it 50kg lighter than the second generation Audi TT, the all-new model also boasts a lower centre of gravity and driving positon while possessing improved driving dynamics. It adds that the quattro all-wheel-drive with rear biasdelivers greater high speed stability and traction.
While featuring a sharper exterior design, it is unmistakably TT, and Audi points out that it is complimented by an all-new interior design language, which it claims “delivers a truly new technology experience for the driver”.
