The Renault Group is to acquire full ownership of Flexis SAS, the joint venture established in 2024 by Renault, Volvo and CMA CGM Group to create a new generation of electric vans.
Under an agreement signed by the three companies, the Renault Group will gain full control of Flexis and carry the project through to completion.

Production of the new range of fully-electric light commercial vehicles is expected commence by the end of 2026, as initially planned, beginning with the Renault Trafic Van E‑Tech electric.
The new electric van range will be built in France and will feature newly developed technologies such as a unique skateboard platform, 800V motor, and SDV (Software Defined Vehicle) architecture.
The Renault Group will acquire the Volvo Group’s 45 per cent stake in Flexis, along with the 10 per cent stake held by the CMA CGM Group.
It could become effective by the end of the first half of 2026, subject to approval by the competition authorities.
The Volvo Group, through Renault Trucks, said it will distribute these products from 2027, in continuity with the long‑standing relationship between Renault Group and Renault Trucks for light commercial vehicles.
