The average Tesla owner spends €81 per month charging their car, according to data from an EV monitoring app.
Harnessing data from 1,884 active users of its app across Europe, EEVEE Mobility found that the cost of charging equates to €0.21 per kilowatt-hour of electricity.
It says that 75 per cent of charging is done at home, compared to 14 per cent at work and 11 per cent in public.
The average distance driven per month by EEVEE Driver app users is 1,652km, according to the data.
Based on an average fuel price of €1.40 per litre with fuel consumption of 5.1 L/100km, the cost of travelling the same distance in a petrol car would be €118, representing a saving of €37 for Tesla drivers.
EEVEE Mobility founder, Steffen Brans says that “transparency in charging costs is essential to drive EV adoption”.
As well as Tesla, the EEVEE Driver app recently became compatible with electric models from BMW and Mercedes-Benz, with more brands expected to join in future, according to the company.
