BYD will soon further strengthen its Irish offering with the introduction of a plug-in hybrid version of its Dolphin hatchback.
The new Dolphin G DM-i uses BYD’s Super Hybrid system which pairs a 1.5-litre petrol engine with a 163PS electric motor, offering more then 1,000km combined range.
The model’s 2,610mm wheelbase supports 425-litres of boot capacity, including a discreet 45-litre compartment beneath the floor. This total can be expanded to 1,225-litres by folding down the 40:60-split rear seats.
Depending on spec, the BYD Dolphin G will use either a 7.42kW/h battery or 18.3kW/h, alongside its 1.5-litre petrol engine.
The new model will go on sale in Ireland later this year, with pricing and spec to be confirmed closer to its launch here.
