MG Motor Ireland has confirmed that the all-new MGS5 EV will arrive in showrooms from this June, promising to offer Irish drivers a dynamic new option in the all-electric SUV segment.
The Irish model line-up will include three versions: MGS5 EV Excite 49kWh, MGS5 EV Excite 64kWh, and the range-topping MGS5 EV Exclusive 64kWh, with pricing starting at €29,995.
Each model will be supported by MG’s seven-year / 150,000km warranty.

Battery options include a standard range 49kWh with a quoted range of up to 340km and 120kW DC Charging, while the larger 64kWh versions have a claimed range of between 465km and 480km and a max fast charge speed of 139kW. Pricing for the Excite 64kWh model starts from €33,495, and from €35,995 for the Exclusive 64kWh version.
Quoted performance figures are 170kW of power and 350Nm of torque, along with a 0–100km/h time of 6.3 seconds.
The MGS5 EV is the second MG to use the brand’s advanced Modular Scalable Platform, first introduced on the award-winning MG4. This dedicated EV architecture combines rear-wheel drive dynamics with strong acceleration and energy efficiency. With a 110mm ultra-thin battery design and a Five-Link rear suspension setup, the MGS5 EV is said to deliver on-road responsiveness and a smooth, comfortable ride.
According to MG, the new MGS5 EV reflects the brand’s new EV identity. Its Cyberster-inspired split grille, LED lighting with chequered-flag DRLs, and sculpted sides create a strong visual signature. A sweeping spoiler and silver-accented cladding bring a dynamic edge to its SUV shape.
Standard colour options include Black Pearl, Cosmic Silver, Arctic White, Dynamic Red, Urban Grey, and Electric Blue. Excite models feature 17-inch alloys, while Exclusive steps up to 18-inch wheels.

Inside, MG says the MGS5 EV offers generous space for passengers and luggage. There’s 1026mm of headroom in the front and 967mm in the rear, with a 453-litre boot that expands to 1,441-litres with the seats folded. A two-stage boot floor, smart electric tailgate, mesh pockets and anchor points add practicality. The cabin features premium finishes including soft-touch materials, a suede-style wireless phone charging pad, and a distinctive six-sided MG steering wheel.
Excite models come with six-way driver and four-way passenger seat adjustment, while Exclusive adds heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, rear privacy glass, and lumbar support.
Every version is equipped with iSMART, MG’s connected car system that allows drivers to control features such as pre-heating, battery monitoring, remote locking, and journey planning from their smartphone.
A centrally-mounted 12.8-inch HD touchscreen provides access to a range of built-in apps including YouTube, Spotify and TikTok. The system also features wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard. A 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster completes the dual-screen setup, and physical buttons for key functions (HVAC, demisting, hazards) offer intuitive control with minimal distraction.
The MGS5 EV features the full MG Pilot ADAS suite, offering features like Active Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Detection, Lane Keep Assist, and Adaptive Cruise Control. Unique to the MGS5 EV is MG Pilot Custom, which allows the driver to configure and store their preferred settings for a tailored driving experience.
In partnership with Continental, MG claims to have equipped the MGS5 EV with advanced EV braking performance. It says the car features large discs (321mm front, 300mm rear) and the latest integrated braking booster technology, delivering a stopping distance from 100km/h of just 35.5 metres.
The MGS5 EV will be available to view and test drive in MG Motor Ireland dealerships from June. Orders are now open, with customer vehicles available from July.
