ŠKODA flagship Superb on display

The flagship of the Skoda range, the new Superb was displayed in Geneva and features a striking new design, greater efficiency and more safety systems than ever before.

And, thanks to Skoda’s legendary value for money, the new version should have an even lower entry price point than the outgoing model.

At 4,861mm long and 1864mm wide, the new Superb is 28mm longer and 47mm wider than its predecessor, while the 2841mm wheelbase is 80mm longer, allowing for greater space within the passenger compartment. The boot is 30 litres larger than before, at 625 litres, expanding to a cavernous 1,760 litres with the rear seat backs folded.

Despite the increased size, the new Skoda Superb is up to 75kg lighter than its predecessor, thanks in part to weight-saving measures made available by the car’s advanced MQB construction.

Another new model on show was the Octavia vRS 230. As you may have guessed, the “230” in this Octavia’s name refers to its horsepower output. Also includes electronic front diff lock, and will be with us all in June.

Finally, the Fabia Monte Carlo featured a host of red and black trimmings for the Fabia Monte Carlo. Go fast looks without adding more power.
