Smart to launch electric city car

Smart is going back to its roots with confirmation that it will launch a small electric city car next year, à la the original Smart ForTwo.

Called the #2, it will join Smart’s bigger #1, #3 and #5 models, the latter of which is expected to launch in Ireland before the end of this year.

While all we have at the moment is a silhouette of the car, Smart has said that the #2 will be styled by Mercedes-Benz and is scheduled to debut in late 2026, with Europe a key market for the car.
