Volkswagen Ireland has described 2023 as a landmark year for the brand, with its ID.4 topping the electric vehicle sales charts here for the second year running, while the ID. Buzz scored an impressive treble at the Continental Tyres Irish Car of the Year Awards.
Now, Volkswagen has hit the ground running in 2023, unveiling the sixth member of the ID. family at CES in Las Vegas.

The new ID.7 saloon will make its full world premiere in the spring but, for now, the CES showcar is a heavily disguised version of the production car with a electroluminescent paint job party trick up its sleeve.
While the QR code style design successfully disguises the lines of the final production version, Volkswagen Ireland says it measures five metres long and has a three metre wheelbase.
It adds that key features include a massive 15-inch infotainment screen, a smart air con system, illuminated touch sliders and an augmented heads-up display.
It also has a 700km WLTP range, according to the brand.
Market introduction here for Ireland is scheduled for Q4 2023, with first models on sale in 12 months from now.
Pricing to be announced closer to that time.
